Aftercare for Sima Ijadi’s clients
Congratulations! You got a tattoo! You sat through the pain and paid good money for it- now it is up to you to heal it. How you care for your tattoo during these first few weeks will determine how well it settles in. If you have any questions or concerns about healing do not hesitate to reach out.
THE GOOD OLD FASHIONED WAY
After getting tattooed for the following two weeks keep out it out of direct sunlight, do not submerge tattoo area- NO BATHS, POOLS, OCEANS, BOGS (showers are okay), and avoid wearing clothes that will rub or irritate tattooed area
After leaving the studio try to keep cling wrap on for 2-3 hours. Immediately wash with unscented antibacterial liquid soap after taking wrap off. Pat dry with clean paper towels and moisturize with unscented lotion.
For the next week wash your tattoo three times a day- moisturizing after washing. Be aware of it and treat it like an open wound. If a dog licks it-wash it, don’t let your homies touch it, don’t rub dirt on it, ect.
Once peeling starts (tattoo looks opaque, flakes of skin start coming off, starts to itch) moisturize throughout the day and do your best not to scratch or pick at it!
Your tattoo is only as healthy as the skin it resides in. Take care of yourself and you’ll be taking care of your tattoo.
